How much do dental implants cost in Tijuana? 2026 prices vs. the U.S.

Short version: a single implant with its crown runs from about $895 in Tijuana† versus a $3,000–$4,500 average in Southern California. A full All-on-4 arch runs from about $9,450† versus $25,000–$40,000 north of the border. That's a 60–75% difference for the same category of treatment. Here's the honest breakdown of why — and what to watch for.

The 2026 numbers, side by side

TreatmentSouthern California avg.Tijuana (this clinic)†
Single implant + abutment + crown$3,000–$4,500from $895
Zirconia crown alone$1,000–$1,800from $450
All-on-4, per arch$25,000–$40,000from $9,450
Extraction$200–$500from $90

Where does the difference come from?

Not from the implant. Titanium implant systems are an international market — clinics on both sides of the border buy from the same manufacturers. The difference is everything around the implant: commercial rent in San Diego versus Zona Río, U.S. staffing and malpractice costs, and the small army of administrators American clinics employ to fight insurance companies. In Tijuana, you're paying for the dentistry, not the building.

The "from price" trap — and how to avoid it

Every clinic (ours included) advertises from-prices, because every mouth is different. The difference between an honest clinic and a bait-and-switch is when you learn your real number. Our rule: you get an itemized written quote — implant, abutment, crown, any extractions or grafting as separate lines — before you book travel. If a clinic will only give you a price once you're in the chair in another country, walk away. From anyone.

Don't forget what's already in your pocket

If you carry a U.S. PPO dental plan, out-of-network reimbursement may apply even to treatment in Mexico — patients here have claimed with Delta Dental. We prepare the paperwork with U.S. procedure codes; your plan decides the payout. That reimbursement comes on top of the border savings, not instead of them.

Bottom line

A $4,000 U.S. implant quote isn't a law of physics — it's a rent bill with a tooth attached. Get the same case priced in writing on this side of the border, compare line by line, and decide with both numbers in front of you.
